Scout Squads are equipped with lighter recon armour, which affords them greater mobility than a full suit of Adeptus Astartes power armour and allows them to operate far ahead of the main Space Marine advance. These bold warriors are often some of the most experienced warriors in a Legion’s line companies, and specialise in disrupting enemy advances and marking enemy positions. In battle, these agile skirmishers race ahead of the main advance to perform daring assaults on objectives, holding until slower troops can relieve them.

This multipart plastic kit builds five Space Marine Scouts, which can be fielded in games of Warhammer: The Horus Heresy as a Legion Scout Squad. Each of these Scouts is armed with a bolt pistol, grenades, and a chainsword or combat blade for close-in fighting. Up to four Scouts can swap their melee weapon for a bolter or Astartes shotgun, and one model can be built as a Scout Sergeant. The kit also offers a variety of additional accessories, including pouches, climbing ropes, and spare weapons. These models have no Legion markings, allowing Warhammer hobbyists to paint them in whichever colours they choose – however, the box includes a transfer sheet featuring optional Ultramarines Legion icons, as well as numerals suited to any Legion.

This set comprises 55 plastic components, and is supplied with 5x Citadel 25mm Round Bases and an Ultramarines Infantry Transfer Sheet. These miniatures are supplied unpainted and require assembly – we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel paints.

You will need a copy of the Warhammer: The Horus Heresy – Age of Darkness Rulebook and either the Liber Astartes: Loyalist Legiones Astartes Army Book or Liber Hereticus: Traitor Legiones Astartes Army Book to make full use of these models.

This kit also includes the components to equip one Scout with a heavy bolter – note that this option is not valid for a Legion Scout Squad as found in the Liber Astartes rulebooks, but can be used to build Scout Squads for games of Warhammer 40,000.
