Larger, more established tribal civilizations built elaborate religious structures to worship and sacrifice offerings to their deities. Throughout the jungles of Central and South America, the Mayans, Incas, and Aztecs built these altar sites as a show of their devotion and to exert control of the general population.

This model kit is our design crew's creative vision of such a site. It features a raised platform with an altar and totem to some long forgotten being. Each side of the platform has a series of steps that are bordered by decorative columns. Etchings, based on historical carvings, cover the pillars as well as simple geometric patterns in the floor and stairway stone work. The totem has fierce feline heads along geometric patterns that adorn the column. A simple altar contains the etchings of a drain and geometric shapes. The altar may be glued permanently to the platform or left removable.

This building is part of the Historical New World series for use with any 28mm tabletop game featuring conflict or life in the early Americas. It will also work especially well with Fantasy settings related to human or non-human tribal communities.  We personally like to use this piece with our Lizardkind miniature settings.
